The history of the Institute of Clinical Medicine began with the creation of the Department of Clinical Medicine on 10.07.2020 (order of UNN No. 392-OD) on the basis of the Institute of Biology and Biomedicine (IBBM) with the aim of implementing clinical disciplines for students in the specialist's degree programmes "general medicine" and "dentistry".
The Institute of Clinical Medicine was founded with the aim of implementing medical education in close connection with fundamental science, advanced clinical and scientific projects in the field of preventive, diagnostic and high-tech medicine. The Institute includes clinical departments, the Higher School of Rehabilitation and Human Health, the accreditation and simulation center, and the University clinic.
In the 2020-2021 academic year, 26 members of the department are facilitating academic work, including 3 doctors and 14 candidates of medical sciences.

"THERAPEUTIC DENTISTRY"
"ORTHODONTICS"
The implementation of residency programs is provided by scientific and pedagogical staff of the Department of Clinical Medicine, narrow courses is provided with the involvement of other departments of the UNN, and also employees of leading medical universities in Russia, as well as some European clinics.
The material and technical support of the department includes:
– classrooms equipped with multimedia, with the ability to connect to the network “Internet”, with access to the electronic informational and educational environment of the organization
– the simulation center with a standard set of professional models.
– practical training is carried out on the basis of the UNN, as well as on the basis of other medical, research institutions and organizations that correspond to the specialization of students and have qualified employees to lead the practice.

The choice of places for practical training for people with disabilities is carried out taking into account the state of health of students.
В случае применения электронного обучения, дистанционных образовательных технологий возможна замена специально оборудованных помещений их виртуальными аналогами, позволяющими обучающимся осваивать умения и навыки, предусмотренные профессиональной деятельностью.
The topic of the research work of the department is defined as "Development of new approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of patients with comorbid pathology", within which 14 articles included in the list of publications recommended by the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation and indexed in the Scopus citation database were published in 2020. PhD dissertations were also defended by the assistants of the department M.O. Samolyuk and K.S. Kolosova under the guidance of Grigorieva N.Y..
After joining the department's staff in the Russian Consortium for the Study of Aging, it is planned to carry out scientific work within the framework of the Russian Program for the development of Biogerontology and Geriatrics.
The staff of the department participate in international registers (such as the register "Analysis of the dynamics of Comorbid diseases in patients infected with SARS-CoV-2" (ACTIVE) and "Analysis of hospitalizations of Comorbid patients infected during the second wave of SARS-CoV-2" (ACTIVE 2), as well as "Clinical register for the study of the current population of therapeutic patients with multifocal atherosclerosis in the territory of the Russian Federation and the countries of Eurasia – KAMMA".)
It is planned that the staff of the department will participate in competitions for grants from the Russian Academy of Sciences in the direction of "Fundamental Research for Medicine".
It is also planned to hold scientific and practical conferences on the basis of the Institute, as well as an annual Interregional conference with international participation "Healthy aging and age-associated diseases" (the first one was held on 02/25/2021).
